OMG . . . Golf Instruction That Actually Works!

Do YOU think it is possible for a golfer, who has never broken 100, to shoot par on a championship golf course in only ONE year?

On the first of June 2004, I received a very interesting email from a John Richardson of Bangor Down, United Kingdom.

John wrote asking me if I thought it would be possible for him to shoot par in only ONE year ". . . I am currently undergoing a quest to try and see whether it is possible to take a golfer who cannot break 100 and within a year have them playing a scratch round on a championship course. Conventional wisdom and 99% of golfers I have spoken to maintain this is impossible. It took Greg Norman three years to get to scratch for goodness sake."

Here was a man, I had never met, with a family who works 50 hours a week, asking me a question that could influence his golfing future based on my response. I told John I was confident that with my instruction, the right attitude, and the commitment to a great deal of practice that it was, indeed, possible.

John's success story has been featured in a golf magazine in the United Kingdom. Although several of our students have accomplished this lofty goal, this is the first instance of validation for all the world to read.

JOHN DID IT!!

The article quotes John:

Here is the full text of John's letter:

Jim McLellan,
"I am currently undergoing a quest to try and see whether it is possible to take a golfer who cannot break 100 and within a year have them playing a scratch round on a championship course. Conventional wisdom and 99% of golfers I have spoken to maintain this is impossible. It took Greg Norman three years to get to scratch for goodness sake. Nevertheless I am persisting and have made myself the subject of this quest. Literally dozens of book later, many lessons (from my excellent pro it has to be said) and probably 10 different instruction videos have filled my mind with far, far too much information. I'm two months into the quest and have huge ups and downs still (e.g. 9 holes in 62!!!) but last week I shot 8 holes in two over par and I attribute at least 80% of that success to a lot of hard work and Jim Mclellan's video. Nothing has come near (by miles) to providing me with confidence and actual results as has religously watching Jim's video. If I sound evangelic - that's because I am!"
Many thanks once again.
Cheers

Two factors make up a great golf game! The right information and dedication to practicing that information. If John can do it so can YOU! It's as simple as that!

Hey Jim

Yep - without a shadow of a doubt Jim's video helped me enormously with my swing in the early days and I sincerely doubt that anyone on the planet has watched that little two second video of Jim swinging more than me. As it says in the article I watched it everywhere.

On my website at www.scratchtoscratch.com the "first secret" that I give away is all to do with Jim and watching that video!

So I cannot recommend Jim and his video highly enough. He was also kind enough to give me a swing critique half way through the year too and some day I hope to make the long journey across to see him and shake him firmly by the hand.

Thanks again Jim.

Hey Jim,

Great article. I loved reading John's story and did visit his site. As you say, just about anyone can shoot par with the RIGHT attitude and practice (sans ball!!). Oh, tripped across yet ANOTHER infomercial for the LATEST swing SECRET. Their claim is that it was (quote) developed after 20 years of research (en-quote). WOW, only 20 years. AMAZING!

Stay stretchy,

Hi Mark! I've watched a steady stream of bogus Golf "Secrets" for over 50 years now. As long as there
are gullible golfers__ who fork out the dough, these con-artist will continue to pick pockets.

Good to hear you're doing so well.
Simple "Ain't it"?

I first discovered Jim's videos about 5 years ago. I admit that since then I have almost quit several times on those occasions when I have veered from what he warns us about in the video "Knowing everything about the golf swing is a great way to get worse." When the frustration would get to a certain point, I always went back to Jim's videos. After seeing the video where John shows all the videos and books he has read, I don't feel as bad, LOL but also know that what all of the those teach us, is what doesn't work.
Jim's video is my screen saver on my computer at work and at home and it is also on my cell phone. Short game area here I come.

David! I knew everything I REALLY needed to know about the golf swing when I was about 10. Not because I'm some sort of a genius, but because there is very little to do in 2 seconds.

Hey Mr. Mclellan,

I'm 14 and am just picking up golf in the last couple months and am taking lessons from someone who uses many similar tips and exercises that you do and in just 4 months I am shooting sub 85 consistently, thanks so much and your ingenious ways have helped me drive the ball further than my friends who have played for years. I am easily carrying 250-260. I hope that more people hear about you because you are clearly the best there is out there to learn from.
